Scientific Medical Journal Publishes Research from Weight Management Program of Salem
Congratulations to Holly Russo, owner, Douglas Carney, MD, founder, and the team of the Weight Management Program of Salem (WMP). Dr. Carney has been notified that his research study on long-term medical weight loss in Salem will be published in the November 2009 issue of the Journal of Diabetes, Science and Technology.
The Weight Management Program of Salem uses a modern meal replacement diet product called "Health One" combined with intensive weekly classes on lifestyle change over many months to help Salem area residents lose an average of over 50 pounds in 16 weeks. The scientific journal article describes how patients in Salem who stay in maintenance classes after weight loss for a year or more keep most of their weight off and have success that is equivalent to those undergoing lap-band surgery for obesity.
The Weight Management Program is located at 960 Liberty Street S., Ste 150 and is open Monday through Friday. To ask about free information sessions held monthly, call 503-540-0304.
